Inez + Chargrels Couture - We Put on for Our City
While deciding if I would attend Full Figured Fashion Week in New York, there was once consensus and that was that if I went, I would have be a great representation of my brands: Style Chic 360 and FASH DET: Fashion Bloggers of Detroit and also represent my city to the fullest! After a few weeks of trying to find trip buddy and being unsuccessful, I decided, I would travel alone to New York and just do it!
Yep, I traveled to the Big Apple alone! It was scary but I feel that timing is everything and the time was now! I decided that I had to attend for the sake of my brand. Although, I was extremely underwhelmed and disappointed by most all the events of FFFWeek (not the brand conferences), the trip still allowed for two of my favorite things: networking and meeting some amazing people and taking amazing blog photos.
While, in New York, I wanted to wear something from a local Detroit designer and so of course I thought of Chargrels Couture first! Her pieces are always unique, one of kind and so chic. I chose the Madden Maxi Skirt from her spring collection and what I love most about it, is the print, it is just so gorgeous and these pictures aren't even doing it justice! Did I mention that it has pockets? Yesss!!! It's really amazing and a great piece that I can style up or down!
I knew before traveling to New York that I did not have a ticket to the Indie Show (as they sold out extremely fast), I was still very disappointed in the fact that I would be in NY for a week I would not see one Fashion Show, well I tried to attend the Bloomingdales one (which was free) but unfortunately, it was just well...a mess.
If you can take anything away from Inez, know that I take my blog and the representation of Style Chic 360 very seriously! I knew I was traveling to New York from Detroit, so I planned my wardrobe and even over packed for the occasion. The lack of fashion during FFFWeek, was an extreme disappointment! We must do better! Ok, ok, I could go on and on and I will in a later post!
But this post is to show off my beautiful skirt! Thank you to Chargrels Couture, we definitely put on for our city!!
As always if you'd like to see more of who I met in NY follow my Instagram: @stylechic360
P.S. I'm cheating and linking up for The Fashionista Next Door's Style Me Friday linkup, maxi dresses, even though this is skirt! But doesn't it look a dress?

Inez I am sooo loving this dress!! Miss Lady it is everything!!
ReplyDeleteYou looked absolutely stunning and I must admit there were only a few and u were one of them that I saw that put on for their city with the fashion. I was underwhelmed by most of the fashion photos that I saw from #FFFWeek but I'm interested in your later posts on your thoughts as well and your overall experience as I am thinking of coming one day but for now from the photos that I've seen from events so far it didn't make me feel like I missed out on much.
ReplyDelete1st of all, I love this outfit Inez. You look lovely; the colors of the outfit to your hair. LOVE! 2nd, thanks for your recap of FFFW. Honest and open...I respect that. At least you were able to network and meet some familiar faces. Hopefully, things get better because I was planning on attending next year. We shall see...XO!

At first, I thought it was a dress, it fits you so good and the top is seamless. I am new to your blog, following via bloglovin. I love your commentary on FFF week and I like the idea of meeting & greeting other bloggers.
ReplyDeleteI AGREE!!!! You are so right Inez. I only attended 3 events because I wasn't interested in the workshops as such. I wanted tickets to the indie show too but overall FFFW was a bust. I'm soooooooooo glad that I didn't waste my time in NY trying to attend everything. The cruise was fun but all the other events were unorganized and unprofessional. It was however, very nice to meet wonderful people like you. You were kind and beautiful. THE PERFECT COMBINATION!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!
ReplyDeleteInez, you look stunning and that is a gorgeous dress!
ReplyDeleteInez this outfit is gorgeous!! I was a little underwhelmed with some of the events too (especially Bloomies), but I'm so glad I got to meet you! :)
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jenny

I'm so proud of you for taking the step to travel to NYC alone. I wish I had the guts to do something like that. I recently took a three month break from blogging. Hopefully, I can reclaim my brand. So sorry that you didn't see any fashion shows but hey at least you bit the bullet and traveled alone!
ReplyDeleteI want this whole outfit. Absolutely gorgeous !

You look amazing. I enjoyed watching you on Instagram and if things werent going as well as you planned, you definitely couldnt tell from the pics I saw! I so love that no matter what you put on your big girl panties and kept it moving during FFFweek. You looked fab the entire time, not a hair out of place!
