Pastels for Spring

Pastels are really hot and trending for Spring 2014, and I've been on the hunt for the perfect pant. So when Illustrious Liz and I headed out to an impromptu thrifting session, I couldn't pass these mint peg pants up! That day I lucked up and found the cutest things! I can't wait to show you all. As you know, I'm not much of a trendy shopper but I'm definitely looking forward to wearing more pastels this spring, I honestly, pray that I find a mint top so that I wear it with these pants, that would be so cute right?

This was the perfect outfit to wear to Resurrection Sunday service and I really loved the way it turned out.

What did you wear to Easter service? Will you be rocking pastels for spring?

P.S. My brother and photographer outdid himself with these! Thank you brother!

I'm Wearing:
Mossimo Collard Vest from Target, Thrifted Button Down, Thrifted Pastel Peg Pants, Zara Lace Up Booties, Thrifted Clutch

Joyce Meyer Conference

Hey everyone!!
Well this post is L-O-N-G overdue! I’ve been super busy the last few weeks and I when I sat down to recap my experiences at the Joyce Meyer conference I wanted to be sure I had enough time to devote to this post. The conference took place a couple weeks ago at the Palace of Auburn Hills.  I was fortunate enough to attend on the last day of the conference and I was even luckier to snag a third row seat in the packed arena!!

Praise and worship was lead by Isreal Houghton and New Breed and they really aided in getting the praise session started. I was so pumped and overjoyed just to be in the presence of so many believers! It was truly amazing!

After reading over my notes which are three pages long, I figured it would be a good idea to split this post  into a mini-series entitled Armed and Dangerous.

Prior to my hiatus from blogging earlier this year, I had never really listened to or followed Joyce Meyer before. I had heard of her but I didn’t know her story. During that very difficult time in my life I needed to be feed by the Word and one day the Spirit lead me to begin listening to Joyce Meyer’s teachings. I very quickly became hooked to them and I quickly downloaded every app that I could find and I even purchased two of her books, The Battlefield of the Mind and Living Beyond Your Feelings.
JoyceMeyerConference

She encourages us to get to know God for ourselves and not rely on a preacher or teacher, but to have an intimate, one-on-one relationship with God and get to know His Word for ourselves.

What I love most about Joyce Meyer is her ability to share her story so freely; we can all gain hope and increase our faith and endurance by knowing that God can and will keep on His promises to us. He will never abandon us regardless of  circumstances, now, present or past.

Starting next week, I will share with you the blessing that Joyce Meyer shared with us.

Be blessed!

Let's Talk Insecurities

"Confidence is beautiful" was one of the first thing I noticed when I arrived at the LightRx location as I neared it. At my highest or even my lowest weight, I've always been confident. For me weight was never an indicator of self worth or confidence. I've always been pretty confident but that doesn't mean I'm free from insecurities.

This post, is one, I've wanted to write for some time, however, in the perfect world of social media and the internet, we all have a tendency to only air the pretty things. And for me, having chin hair just does not qualify as one of those pretty things, so I kept this to myself. I started noticing chin hairs when I was a teenager, they weren't thick at all, I just didn't understand why I was so hairy. I mean, I had thick eyebrows, hairy sideburns, hairy arms and even legs...in elementary school. Ugh, so not cool.

Being hairy became an insecurity at a very young age and one day I decided to take a razor to it. This was probably the worse thing I could have ever done, especially on my face.

Once I hit my mid 20s the hair grew coarser and the need to shave became so frequent, I felt like I needed to shave twice a day just to keep it under control. Shaving also led to ingrown hairs, marks and ugly scaring.

I'm very self conscious about it and wonder if people noticed the hair. It became a horrible annoyance for me and I said if I could ever do something to eliminate this I would.  Admittedly, some things we may be insecure about we learn to accept, this is one thing I'm so glad that professionals have figured out a way to remedy.

Well, that time has come and thankfully LightRX will be solving my hair issues. If you follow me on Instagram and Snapchat (StyleChic360) then you know that I had my first sessions for laser hair removal to remove hair from my face and underarms. I'm excited to share my journey with you all  and answer any questions you all may have regarding the process.

Stay tunedor the next 10 months I will be sharing this very intimate journey with you! I'm hoping that by the end of this I can put my ladybeard behind me.   We shall definitely see how it goes!

I wanted to thank you all for entering my giveaway and I'd like to take this time to announce the winners:

    Off-the-Shoulder

Hey y'all! So if you read my previous post here, you know I had the opportunity to meet Stacy London and shop the Massini by Stacy London brand at Meijer.

I was excited to have the opportunity to come up with an outfit from the Massini brand. I was drawn to this off-the-shoulder dress however it was a bit too short for my taste. So I thought why not belt it and wear it as a top?

These patchwork denim jeans are really cute and the fit is pretty nice. I'm wearing a size 12 and I actually wish these were made in different colors/washes because I would probably buy them all!
I kept the look neutral but I could easily style this dress with orange shoes or even turquoise accessories.

Stay tuned later this week, I will be hosting a Meijer giftcard giveaway, you don't want to miss out!

An Outfit Post | My View on Opinions

It's so easy on social media to post witty captions and be the fashion only girl with no voice. It is when one shares their views that they are criticized by giving it.

Circle Skirts |Turtlenecks and Lace-Up Booties

This circle skirt from Chargrels Couture is absolute perfection! This custom piece from designer Char Glover of Project Runway, is definitely a statement piece, it's so dainty and ladylike and the print and color just screams look at me! It's actually a two piece set (came with bralette) that was a part of the 2014 Spring Collection. Although, the skirt I'm wearing is no longer available you can find a similar one in plaid here.

Life and Favor | Happy Birthday to Me!

God is so so so so so good to me, you guys I wish you all knew the amount of joy and peace I feel at this moment! As I sit here and type this, tears of joy are streaming down face. If you only knew my story! But God!!!! Thank you Lord!

For the last two years, I have not wanted to celebrate my birthday at all, because of a number of painful things. I've always been a huge celebrator of birthdays and to lose the joy of celebrating my own was truly devastating....but God. Two years of pain and now I'm delivered. I will always remember this birthday....my 32nd.

As I celebrate my bornday,  I'm reminded of God's mercy and that He will ALWAYS make a way. He will deliver you from your pain and restore your faith. My prayer was for peace and He's provided. I'm blessed. I've found my happy place again and I'm overwhelmed right now, yall! I'm grateful. I'm favored.

"Life and favor upon me, He brought me out! Oh how wondrous is my story! Can't imagine what I've been through! I'm delivered with a testimony!"
